Phyllis Briggs

Best known for the pony book Son of Black Beauty, which as the title suggests follows the fortunes of the famous horse's son, in a similar style to the original. The author also wrote two other pony stories aimed at younger children and a few other mainly animal related/adventure novels for children. Additionally she wrote a number of volumes re-telling various classic tales, plus a non-fiction children's picture book of horses and ponies.
